Island of Pianosa

The Festival organizes Musical Journeys to the Island of Pianosa: a guided tour to the Island’s hidden treasures is followed by a concert in the Church of S. Gaudenzio.

The legend of the origin of the Island of Pianosa tells a story of a pearl that slipped from the necklace of Venus, the goddess of beauty and love. It fell into the Tyrrhenian sea and became an island.

Proofs of the neolithic and the Bronze Age settlements were discovered by the archeologists. Uninhabited for many years, the Island is now part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, accessible to the public. The guided tours allow the visitors to discover Pianosa’s beautiful and unpolluted surroundings.
