An international symphonic formation that regroups every year on the Island of Elba specifically for the Festival, in residence for a week of rehearsals and concerts. Thanks to its flexible ensemble (up to 40 elements), the Elba Festival Orchestra can adapt to various locations and different repertoires. The orchestra is made up of established soloists, flanked by young musicians who can thus follow an entire week’s training course, comparing themselves with highly experienced artists and with diversified repertoires.
EFO has hosted musicians from more than 20 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The constitution of the orchestra was also made possible thanks to the support offered by the Colombian composer, pianist and conductor Arturo Cuéllar, who was in residence at the Festival in 2023 and is a good friend of Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa.
