Violinist María Hernández Maya is currently studying at Musikene (Higher Music Center of the Basque Country) under the guidance of Professor Liana Gourdjia. She began her musical journey at the “Maestro Andrés Segovia” Music School in Dos Hermanas with Professor Mª Carmen Rodríguez Sánchez, and later completed her violin studies at the “Cristóbal de Morales” Conservatory with Professor José Manuel García Belmonte.

Throughout her training, she has enriched her preparation by participating in numerous courses and competitions. In 2014, she won first prize in the second cycle of the “América Martínez” Competition. She took private lessons with Professor Tamara Bektemirova and attended the “Ciudad de Toledo” and “Ciudad de Astorga” courses with prominent teachers such as Santiago de la Riva, David Marco, Joaquín Torres, and Sheila Gómez. In 2021, she participated in the AIMS Festival in Solsona, refining her skills with Professor Gourdjia.

As a soloist, she has performed with the orchestra of the “Cristóbal de Morales” Conservatory. She has been an active member of the Andalusian Youth Orchestra (OJA) since 2019 and took part in the Barenboim-Said Foundation’s Orchestral Studies Academy from 2019 to 2021. She has also been a member of the Joven Orquesta de Sevilla.

She has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Mihaela Martin, Clara Cernat, Suyeon Kang, Ulf Schneider, and Elisabeth Kufferath. She holds the ABRSM Grade 6 diploma (an internationally recognized certification awarded by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and continues to develop her artistic career through various performances and academic opportunities.
