Manuel Pérez Morodo (born in 2002 in Ponferrada) began studying violin at the age of 10 at the “Cristóbal Halffter” Professional Conservatory of Music in his hometown, where he studied with Alicia Santos and completed the intermediate level with top marks in 2020.
He then continued his studies with Sergey Teslya and Cecilia Bercovich at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid, and has taken masterclasses with Liana Gourdjia, Miguel Colom, Cecilia Ziano, Tobias Feldmann, among others.
In chamber music, he has been a member of the Cuarteto Turina (CSKG), Quinteto Bergidum Flavium, and Octeto In Momentum, performing at festivals such as Corteza de Encina 2022 (Ponferrada), Maestros Internacionales XVI (Ciudad de León Auditorium), the Philharmonic Theatre Season in Oviedo, and the XV Jornadas de Música y Patrimonio in Toledo. In April 2025, he was invited as an academy member to the Festival Resonances at Château de Halloy (Belgium), working with Amy Norrington, William Coleman, and Philippe Graffin.
From 2019 to 2024, he was a member of the Joven Orquesta Leonesa, serving as concertmaster in July 2022 and making his solo debut in April 2024 under the baton of Jorge Yagüe.
In 2024, he was invited by the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester for its Summer Tour with Ingo Metzmacher, performing at the Salzburg Festspiele, Rheingau Musik Festival, Festival di Bolzano, and Berlin Festspiele. In 2025, he is a reserve member of the orchestra.
Between 2023 and 2025, he has been a member of the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León (JOSCyL), where he served as principal second violin in April 2023 and concertmaster in July 2023 and April 2024, under the direction of Vasily Petrenko and Thierry Fischer. In April 2025, he is invited as a soloist with the orchestra under the direction of Baldur Brönnimann.
Since 2023, he has been a member of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE), serving as principal second violin in the III/2023 session and concertmaster in sessions I/2024, II/2024, and I/2025. He has worked with conductors such as Eliahu Inbal, Pablo Heras-Casado, Pablo González, Edmon Levon, and Vasily Petrenko.
Also since 2023, he has regularly collaborated with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León (OSCyL) and the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir (OCNE), performing under the baton of Christoph Koncz, Elim Chan, Anja Bihlmaier, and Joshua Weilerstein.
Since 2024, he has continued his studies at Universität Mozarteum Salzburg under the guidance of Annelie Gahl and Cibrán Sierra.
