Juan de Dios Ruiz Racero

VIOLIN

Juan de Dios was born in La Luisiana (Seville) in 2002. He began violin studies with José Enrique Ruiz Conde at the Elementary Conservatory “Fray Juan Bermudo” in Écija and continued with Carlos Ruiz Moral at the Professional Conservatory “Músico Ziryab” in Córdoba. He earned his Bachelor’s degree with top marks at Musikene (San Sebastián), in the class of Liana Gourdjia. He was also admitted to the composition program at Musikene, studying with Ramon Lazkano and Gabriel Erkoreka. His works have been performed and recorded by students and professionals.

Currently, Juande is pursuing a Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Professor Janet Krause. He recently won third prize at the Marine Iashvili Violin Competition (Tbilisi, Georgia) and is a winner of the Lorenzo Palomo Chamber Music Competition.

He is a regular member of the Barenboim-Said Academy, where he served as concertmaster. He also performs regularly with the Andalusian Youth Orchestra (OJA), where he has led the violin section and studied with teachers such as Paçalin Pavaci, James Dahlgren, and Isabel Jiménez. He has also played in the Youth Orchestras of Córdoba (OJC) and Málaga (JOM).

Since 2023, Juande has been part of the Elba Festival Orchestra (EFO) and has collaborated with the Basque National Orchestra (OSE). As a chamber musician, he has performed with Cuarteto Lauso at the “Quincena Musical” Festival and the “Sociedad Bilbaína”.

He has worked under conductors such as Pedro Halffter, Pablo Heras-Casado, Juanjo Mena, Erik Nielsen, Arturo Tamayo, Manuel Hernández-Silva, Robert Treviño, and Víctor Pablo Pérez, among others.

He has received violin training from Miriam Sadun, Yun-Peng Zhao, Jeanne-Marie Couturier, Barbara Doll, Andrej Bielow, Eszter Haffner, and Viviane Hagner. In chamber music, he has studied with Alfred Brendel, Bruno Giuranna, Kim Kashkashian, and members of the Casals Quartet at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
