Fabrizio Bosso
Fabrizio Bosso’s encounter with music was written in his DNA, with several musicians in the family, but it was above all his father Gianni, an amateur trumpeter, who passed on to him a deep love for jazz. He began playing the trumpet at the age of five and graduated from Torino Conservatory at fifteen. Gifted with flawless technique and a lyrical voice capable of touching the deepest chords of the soul, he has developed his artistic path and career through exploration of all musical genres, while always remaining true to his jazz roots.
Over the years, he has recorded numerous albums, both as a bandleader and as a special guest. He has played with many ensembles over time, some briefly, others more extensively, each one enriching his language and inspiration along the way.
Constantly driven by a thirst for new experiences and encounters, he has collaborated with countless Italian musicians and many international jazz legends (Gianni Basso, Enrico Pieranunzi, Rosario Giuliani, Rita Marcotulli, Enrico Rava, Charlie Haden, Carla Bley, Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Maria Schneider…), as well as with pop stars such as Claudio Baglioni, Zucchero, and Renato Zero. He has performed with major orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and the RAI Orchestra of Turin, and has also supported emerging young talents by giving them opportunities and visibility.
Rigorous and tireless, he performs on stages around the world, carrying with him a rich melodic sensibility and the unmistakable Italian sense of song. Combined with his deep knowledge of the Afro-American tradition and a constant openness to new trends in the global music scene, this makes the sound of his trumpet unique and instantly recognizable.
Never shying away from new experiences, and with the awareness that every encounter offers something to learn, the Turin-born trumpeter has chosen Music as a way to tell his personal and artistic story, and to share himself with both his fellow musicians and his ever-growing, devoted audience.
