Bernat Buzzi Teixidó

CLARINET

Bernat Buzzi Teixidó was born in Terrassa, Barcelona, ​​in 1999. He began his musical studies at the age of 7 and completed his basic musical education ten years later.

Later, he enrolled at the Liceu Conservatory and under the guidance of Isaac Rodriguez, he has perfected his clarinet playing as well as acquired loads of knowledge regarding orchestral music, chamber music and solo performing. In his final year, he was awarded the “Extraordinary Prize in interpretation”, which let him debut as a soloist with the orchestra of the Liceu Conservatory and earn a scholarship for the master program. 

Between 2021 and 2023, he studied at the Royal Conservatoire at The Hague under the guidance of Olivier Patey, principal clarinet at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. During the 2022-2023 season, he has taken lessons regularly with Calogero Palermo, also solo clarinet at the Royal Concertgebouw.

Between 2021 and 2022, he took part of the academy of  Mahler Chamber Orchestra. From the 2022-2023 season, he is a guest principal clarinet at Sinfonia Rotterdam and he collaborates with Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under Daniel Harding and in the Orchestre National de Metz.

Bernat has taken advice from great clarinettists such as Nicolas Baldeyrou, Philippe Berrod, Martin Fröst, Matthew Hunt, Calogero Palermo, Vicent Alberola and Charles Neidich.

Since September 2023, he is a student at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse Lyon (CNSMDL) under the guidance of Nicolas Baldeyrou with the support of the “la Caixa” Foundation.
