Aylen Pritchin is one of the most sought-after artists on the international scene. Known for his great versatility, he performs a wide-ranging repertoire from early music to contemporary works, using both modern and period instruments.

A winner of numerous awards, including First Prize at the Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris in 2014, he has made several major debuts in recent years: with the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris (Beethoven, conducted by Maxim Emelyanychev); with Camerata Nordica, on tour in Sweden performing as both soloist and conductor (Mendelssohn, Vaughan Williams, Desyatnikov, Beethoven); and with Sinfonia Varsovia at the “Ma Région Virtuose” Festival in Nantes alongside Barbara Dragan (Mendelssohn). Other solo appearances include performances with Il Pomo d’Oro, the Taiwan Philharmonic, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, the Armenian National Philharmonic, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, and the Osaka, Hiroshima, Gunma Philharmonics, as well as the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. He has worked with conductors such as Teodor Currentzis, Christian Arming, Cornelius Meister, Yuri Simonov, Shlomo Mintz, and Valentin Uryupin, among many others.

Highly active in chamber music, he has been a guest at numerous festivals including Just Klassik in Troyes, Kammermusikfest in Landshut, Lockenhaus in Austria, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, SoNoRo in Romania, and La Folle Journée in Nantes. He has performed with artists such as Lawrence Power, Nicolas Altstaedt, Olli Mustonen, Lukas Geniušas, and Maxim Emelyanychev.

He has given recitals at prestigious venues and festivals, including the Konzerthaus Vienna, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musikaliska Stockholm, Mozarteum Salzburg, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall in Moscow, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Hong Kong Concert Hall with Rémi Geniet, and the Toppan Hall in Tokyo with Tomoki Kitamura.

In 2019, he released a solo violin CD featuring 20th-century works, including the world premiere recording of Jean Françaix’s Theme with 8 Variations. His recording of Brahms Sonatas on period instruments with Emelyanychev (Aparté, 2021) received widespread acclaim. In 2022, his CD Debussy-Hahn-Stravinsky with Lukas Geniušas (Mirare) won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and the Choc de Classica, and was named by The New York Times as one of the “Five Classical Albums to Listen to Right Now”.

Aylen Pritchin teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
