Anna Lilla Székely was born in Budapest in 2003 and began playing the violin at the age of six. She has won numerous national competitions, including the prestigious Zathureczky Violin Competition. In 2016, she was selected to compete alongside fellow musicians in the talent show “Virtuózok”, where she reached the semi-finals.
At the age of 13, in 2017, she was admitted to the preparatory class for gifted young students at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. That same year, she was chosen as one of 16 finalists worldwide to participate in the international violin competition “Il Piccolo Violino Magico” in Italy.
Anna Lilla began her bachelor’s studies in Budapest under Professor Miklós Szenthelyi and was also accepted into the class of violinist Liana Gourdjia at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris. In 2023, she won first prize at the Danubia Talents International Competition for string instruments and third prize at the Jenő Hubay International Violin Competition.
She has been invited to perform as a member of the Elba Festival Orchestra at the 27th, 28th, and 29th editions of the international festival “Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa”. Anna Lilla regularly participates in masterclasses with distinguished violinists such as Dora Schwarzberg, Roman Kim, György Pauk, Kirill Troussov, Gyula Stuller, Kristóf Baráti, and others.
As a soloist, she has performed both in Hungary and abroad with orchestras such as the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, with whom she has performed the violin concertos by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Sibelius in the Grand Hall of the Franz Liszt Academy. She was also invited to perform at the prestigious 2025 New Year’s Concert of the Budapest Music Academy, broadcast by Hungarian Television, playing with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Domonkos Héja.
In 2024, Anna Lilla was admitted to the Haute École de Musique de Genève-Neuchâtel, studying under Professor Sergey Ostrovsky. She is also continuing her studies in Paris with Liya Petrova. In 2025, she won second prize at the Shkolnikova Academy Concerto Competition, which granted her the opportunity to perform under the direction of Dmitry Sitkovetsky at the Shkolnikova Academy.
