“Quite extraordinary playing. Rich, luscious, profound, moving, passionate and delicate when needs be” (Daily Telegraph) Elena Garlitsky was born in Russia and studied at Moscow Central School of Music. She graduated from the Gnessine Academy of Music and Pedagogics (Doctorate level) under Professors A.Yoheles (piano), and V. Berlinsky, cellist and founder of Borodin Quartet (chamber music). She has performed most of the greater chamber music works for piano and violin, piano trio and quartet throughout Russia, Europe and the United States. EG has been invited by London Philharmonic Orchestra to perform in the “Chamber Contrasts” series at the Wigmore Hall in London. Her career in chamber music has won her recognition also as a harpsichordist with the New European Strings Orchestra with whom she interpreted Schnitke’s Sonata for Violin, Harpsichord and chamber orchestra at the Musikverein Hall in Vienna. Elena also appeared as soloist at the international festivals and has many broadcast on the BBC, Moscow music programs, Radio France. Mrs Garlitsky is member of the Garlitsky Piano Trio. With Boris Garlitsky, she made the first recording of an unknown Sonata for violin and piano by the Russian conductor and composer of the 20th century, J.Dobrowen.
