Marian is 22 years old and she was born in 2000 in Kokkola, Finland. She started to play the french horn at the local conservatory at the age of 8. In high-school she combined her studies with the Sibelius-Academy youth department with Tommi Hyytinen as her teacher. At present she is completing her Masters degree at The University of Arts, Sibelius Academy. Her main Professor is Jukka Harju.
She has already a lot of experience with working in professional orchestras. For the past two years she has been working as a long time substitute with the Helsinki Philharmonic orchestra. Through her position in the orchestra she has been playing with the orchestra in many different festivals such as Lucerne Festival and Edinburg International Festival. Recently she was on tour with the orchestra in Carniege Hall, New York. Marian has also experience from playing as a soloist, she has performed in front of the Wasa Sinfonietta and Wegelius Kammarståkar.
Marian feels very lucky to be a part of the Elba Isola Musicale D’Europa Festival. She is looking forward to be playing next to her teacher and to meeting new musicians and people.
