Leonore Orchestra

Wanted and promoted by the Pistoiese Promusica Foundation, the Leonore Orchestra, which operates within the Pistoiese Theater Association, is an ensemble founded in 2014 by Daniele Giorgi, whose musical personality catalyses excellent musicians from all over Europe, and with experiences in important international orchestras including Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Mozart Orchestra, Berliner Philharmoniker, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Teatro alla Scala Orchestra, Accademia di Santa Cecilia.
From the very beginning, the performances of the Leonore Orchestra have stood out for their intensity, clarity of formal articulation, technical brilliance and stylistic coherence, outlining a very personal character never in search of an originality as an end in itself ("What seemed a utopia, a group of (beautiful) people has transformed into reality. And of what quality! "- Helmut Failoni, Corriere Fiorentino).
The Leonore Orchestra is invited as a guest in several important Italian concert seasons. Along with Leonore, soloists such as Isabelle Faust, Alban Gerhardt, Angela Hewitt, Alexander Lonquich, Midori, Gabriela Montero, Olli Mustonen, Ivo Pogorelich, Baiba Skride, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, and many others performed.
From the 2017-2018 season, the musicians of the Leonore Orchestra have been involved in Floema: a chamber project conceived and directed by Daniele Giorgi, parallel to the Symphonic Season, through which art music reaches unusual places. Thanks to Floema, collaborations are realized with hospitals, with prisons, with schools, and projects are carried out together with amateur musical groups operating in the area and with students of music schools. Also in the context of Floema, dozens of new compositions are commissioned and performed every year.
