Marija Strapcāne

Latvian violinist Marija Strapcane blends a passion for historical performance with the precision of a modern interpreter. A member of the Kremerata Baltica since 2021, she has toured internationally and performed at festivals including Kronberg’s “Chamber Music Connects the World”, Musique aux 4 Horizons, and MusaE. She began her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon with Marianne Piketty, discovering baroque violin with Odile Edouard, and continued at Zurich University of the Arts with Nora Chastain. Based in Basel, she studies with Rainer Schmidt and Leila Schayegh at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Marija plays a 1905 Albertus Blanchi violin made in Nice.

 

Jevgenija Frolova

Latvian violist Jevgenija Frolova began her musical path at age six, later debuting as a soloist at 18 with Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in Germany. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and pursued postgraduate studies in Vienna. An avid chamber musician, she has performed at major European festivals and is a founding member of String Trio Baltia, whose debut was nominated for the 2023 Latvian Grand Music Award. The trio’s first CD of Latvian works was released in 2025. As an orchestral musician, she has performed widely and has been a member of Kremerata Baltica since 2019.

 

Magdalena Ceple

Latvian cellist Magdalena Ceple is the solo cellist at Kremerata Baltica and a versatile performer across modern, baroque, and contemporary styles. She has collaborated with Gidon Kremer, Christian Tetzlaff, András Schiff, and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, and has appeared at the Kronberg Academy and the Usedomer Musikfestival. A dedicated chamber musician, she performs with the Zerkalo Quartet and in duo with pianist Jelizaveta Vasiljeva. Magdalena also explores interdisciplinary projects and baroque performance, studying with Kristin von der Goltz. Educated across Europe, she holds degrees from Lübeck, Brussels, and Riga. Her expressive depth, genre range, and artistic individuality have earned broad recognition.

 

Iurii Gavryliuk

Double bassist Iurii Gavryliuk has been a member of the Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra since 2015. Born in Ukraine, Iurii began his double bass studies at the age of 14.
In 2011, he received a full scholarship to continue his education at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Rinat Ibragimov and Luis Cabrera.
As a member of Kremerata Baltica, Iurii has performed in over 50 countries with some of the world’s most inspiring musicians.

 

Andrei Pushkarev

Andrei Pushkarev, a Ukrainian vibraphonist, composer, and arranger, is internationally recognized for his unique fusion of classical and jazz. He has been a principal percussionist with Kremerata Baltica since 1999 and has performed worldwide in major venues and festivals. His acclaimed project Bach Vibrations reimagines Bach’s Inventions in jazz styles. Pushkarev has collaborated with renowned artists such as Gidon Kremer and Yo-Yo Ma and recorded on labels such as ECM and Deutsche Grammophon. His arrangements span repertoire from Piazzolla to Shostakovich and are featured in ballet, chamber, and orchestral settings. He also teaches and mentors globally, inspiring the next generation of percussionists.
