Giulia Nuti was born in Cambridge and raised in Florence. She has always lived and worked in both Italy and England.
Her solo recordings have received numerous awards, including the Diapason d’Or and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, and have been praised by music lovers and scholars alike:

Giulia has also published numerous essays on basso continuo, improvisation, and accompaniment. Her book The Performance of Italian Basso Continuo (Ashgate, 2007) is widely cited as an essential text for both performers and scholars.
She regularly gives masterclasses and seminars throughout Europe, including at the Royal College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, University of Cambridge, the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, and the Berlin University of the Arts.
Since 2024, she has been Professor of Harpsichord and Historical Performance Practice at the Gustav Mahler Private University for Music.
