Gian Marco Ciampa

Gian Marco Ciampa, born in 1990, graduated with full marks, honors and Honorable Mention in guitar at the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome, under the guidance of Maestro Arturo Tallini and Bruno Battisti D’Amario, after having studied in the early years of education with Maestro Fernando Lepri and Maestro Fabrizio Verile.

From a very young age he carries out an intense concert activity that has led him to perform and hold Masterclasses in four continents: Australia, Japan, United States, Argentina, China, Mexico, New Zealand, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece etc. He is also the winner of more than 40 international awards including the “Melbourne International Guitar Competition”, “Tokyo International Guitar Competition” and the “European Guitar Competition” which awards him with the Medal of the President of the Italian Republic.

In May 2016, thanks to the great use of social networks and new technologies that he uses in his videos, he was invited to hold a TEDxTalk for the prestigious TEDxLUISS event, precisely to deal with the topic about the union between classical music and the younger generations: ” Who says classical music is only for old people? ” is the title of his speech which is greeted by an emotional standing ovation from the audience.

On the occasion of EXPO MILANO 2015 he is called to perform as the Italian representative of classical guitar at the U.S.A. Pavilion. as the only classical artist invited by the American Pavilion on the occasion of the 2015 Universal Exposition. In 2014 he was awarded the “Golden Guitar” as best young talent by the prestigious “Michele Pittaluga International Competition”. On the occasion of the 2013 Memorial Day, he performs live on Rai 3, in front of the authorities gathered in the Sala dei Corazzieri of the Quirinale. Important national and foreign newspapers, specialized magazines (La Repubblica, La Nazione, Il Tempo, Il Corriere Della Sera, SUONARE, Seicorde etc.) have dedicated articles, interviews and quotes to his talent.

Since 2016 he has been Professor of Conservatory and has held Masterclasses in important Italian and foreign Conservatories. Active in Chamber Music at the moment he collaborates in Duo with the young cellist Erica Piccotti and with the flutist Bianca Fiorito. Since 2016 Gian Marco has attended the “Segovia Guitar Academy” in Pordenone with Maestro Paolo Pegoraro and Maestro Adriano Del Sal.
