Carla Conangla
Born in Barcelona in 1997, Carla first studied at the Liceu Conservatory under Peter Thiemann, and later at the Maastricht Conservatory under Gustav Rivinius. In June 2022 she completed her Master’s degree under Giovanni Gnocchi at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. She has attended master classes held by Frans Helmerson, Claudio Bohórquez, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Gary Hoffman, Maria Kliegel and Alexander Chausian, among others. She is the 1st Prize Winner of the 2018 Pablo Casals International Award and 4th Prize Winner of the 2022 International Mainardi Competition of the Mozarteum Salzburg.
As a soloist, she has performed with the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim, the Maastricht Orchestra, the Girona Youth Orchestra, the Orquestra de Cambra Catalana and the Granollers Youth Orchestra. From 2012 to 2018, she was the principal cellist of the Youth Orchestra from Catalonia; in 2017, she collaborated with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. She has worked with such conductors as Antoni Ros-Marbà, Josep Pons, Alondra de la Parra, Gordan Nikolic, Pablo González, Jaime Martín, Omer Meir Wellber, Elisabeth Fuchs and Kazushi Ono. Currently she is guest member of Salzburg Philarmonie and Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC). She has won a scholarship for Jeunesse-Oorkaan-Academy 2022-2023. She is member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (GMJO) since 2021.
