Antoine Siguré was born in Orléans, France, and started to play the percussions at the age of 6. In 2009 he moved to Brussels, and after meeting the Spira Mirabilis ensemble, he decided to concentrated on playing the timpani. At the age of 26, Antoine was appointed principal timpani of the Flanders Symphony Orchestra, playing also in many important orchestras in Europe, Australia, Korea. In 2016 he joined the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, as principal timpani. Antoine is very engaged in teaching at prestigious music schools and universities world-wide. Antoine is also a keen bike enthusiast. "Timpani playing and cycling have a lot in common, they're all about timing, pace, tempo, and balance management," he says. Having cycled a good 1,600 miles across half of the United States in 2014 with a quartet of great but slightly crazy friends, he is still seeking to form a new daredevil team to cover the remaining half.
