Antoine Siguré
Antoine Siguré was born in Orléans, France, and started playing percussion at the age of 6. After his move to Brussels in 2009, and following his encounter with the musicians of Spira mirabilis, he decided to shift his focus to timpani and their role in orchestral repertoire. He joined the Philharmonia Orchestra as principal timpani in 2016, aged 29, and kept an active freelance career on the side. Over the years, Antoine has performed with Aurora Orchestra, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the London Symphony Orchestra, l’Orchestre de Paris, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, to name a few. Antoine is also very engaged on the teaching front, and has collaborated with prestigious universities such as the Royal College of Music, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (Paris), the Korean National University of Arts (Seoul), the Conservatorio de Música de Cartagena (Colombia). He will join the Royal Academy of Music as timpani professor from September 2022 onwards.
