Musical Journey to the Island of Capraia

On August 29th the Festival will bring its public to the Island of Capraia for a unique concert.
Certainly one of the most emblematic moments of the 27th edition of the Festival, the Musical Journey to the Island of Capraia on Tuesday 29 August promises to be an event which, inaugurating the collaboration with the “Capraia Musica Festival”, further underlines the link between the Festival, the sea and the environment of the Tuscan Archipelago. The audience will leave from Portoferraio (Elba) with a maritime transport service organized by the Festival and will arrive in Capraia after about 2 hours: in the Church of Sant’Antonio, which was built by the Franciscan Order in the second half of the 17th century with the adjacent convent, the violinists Aki Saulière and Chiara Sannicandro will perform the Sonata for two violins op. 56 by Prokofiev and then, after being joined by Georgy Kovalev on viola, Raphael Bell on cello and Amerigo Bernardi on double bass, the Quintet for 2 violins, viola, cello and double bass op. 77 by Dvořák. The return to Portoferraio will be in the evening, again with a transport service organized by the Festival departing from the island of Capraia.
