Jacopo Taddei

SAXOPHONE

After winning the prestigious Claudio Abbado Prize and Milano Conservatory Prize at the age of 25, Jacopo Taddei, saxophone, became a known musician on the international stage. He won other numerous prizes in competitions from 2006 to 2021. In 2015 Jacopo won an Umbria Jazz scholarship for studying at Berkley College of Music in Boston USA.

Born in Portoferraio, Island of Elba, he began his musical studies at the age of 8, and graduated at 16 at Conservatory Rossini in Pesaro, with Prof. F. Mondelci. At 19, he obtained his diploma with honors at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, with Prof. M. Marzi. Since then, Jacopo played with many prestigious orchestras in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, USA, Hong Kong. From 2019 Jacopo Taddei is holding the first saxophone post at Teatro Regio in Torino, successfully recording and performing concerts in many prestigious concert halls.

Several contemporary composers, such as Ch. Lauba, F. Libetta, V. Montalti, A. Solbiati among others, wrote and dedicated pieces to Jacopo Taddei.
