Natalia Tchitch



Born in Maykop, Russia, Natalia Tchitch took her first violin lessons at the age of five. She studied violin and viola in Moscow Central Music School and Tchaikovsky Conservatory with professors Mikhail Vaiman, Natalia Bezrodnaya, Maria Sitkovskaya, and Fiodor Drouzhinin, and then continued her viola studies at the Reina Sofia Music School in Madrid with Professor Gérard Caussé.
From 1998, she is a member of Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia (La Coruña) and Opéra de Paris orchestra, and as solo viola at the Opera La Monnaie orchestra (Brussels), and the National Orchestra of Spain (Madrid). At present she is a member of Chamber Orchestra Band Art conducted by Gordan Nicolić, and Ensemble Les Dissonances lead by violinist David Grimal. In 2006 she founded the “Shostakovich Ensemble”, which often tours Spain and Portugal with pianist Felipe Pinto-Ribeiro, violinist Tatiana Samouil and cellist Pavel Gomziakov.
In 2003 she was appointed assistant to Gérard Caussé’s viola class at the Paris Conservatory. In 2007, she took a teaching position at the Academy Musikene in San Sebastian, in Spanish Basque Country.
Natalia Tchitch regularly plays chamber music with Augustin Dumay, Alain Meunier, Katia and Marielle Labeque, Natalia Shakhovskaya, David Grimal, Justus Grimm, Kirill Troussov, Maria João Pires, Gérard Caussé, and Isabella Faust.
Natalia Tchitch plays the viola of Jacques Fustier (Lyon) made in 1985.
