Maria Bader-Kubizek

Maria is the Head of the Haydn Akademie Eisenstadt and a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. She was Artistic Director of the Capella Czestochoviensis of ancient music in Poland from 2006 to 2009, and as a soloist, she has played on many occasions in Vienna’s Musikverein (where she performed all Mozart’s violin concertos), as well as taking part in the international Haydn Festival at the Eszterhazy-Eisenstadt’s castle. She also appeared as a soloist in Europe and Japan with Haydn Academy Eisenstadt Orchestra, the Capella Istropolitana Bratislava, Vienna’s Mozart Orchestra, and Budapest’s Chamber Symphony.
Maria is passionate about chamber music, often performing on original instruments that correspond to the style of the compositions. She has taken part in several recordings of the repertoire ranging from H.I.F Biber to Mendelssohn.
She also plays first violin in different chamber ensembles, performing with such artists as Paul Gulda, the Mosaique Quartet, Richard Fuller and Rudolf Leopold.
More recently, she has become interested in interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with the ingenious Swiss sculptor Piero Maspoli, improvising freely within some of his installations. She studied the violin in Vienna, Salzburg and London.
