Ivano Battiston



Ivano studied to play the accordion with Salvatore di Gesualdo, graduating with honors from Castelfranco Veneto Conservatory. In1978 he won the first prize at XXVIII Trophée Mondial de l’Accordéon. He also graduated in choral music, bassoon, and studied composition with Bruno Coltro.
He played as a soloist with many orchestras: The Moscow Soloists with Yuri Bashmet, the Radio and Television Slovenian Orchestra of Lublyana, Orchestra Filarmonica della RAI in Turin, the Orchestra d’Archi Italiana, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Milano Classica and Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, the Sinfonica in San Remo. He took part in Festival Siberia – Italy, playing with Chamber Orchestra of Krasnoyarsk (Russia) collaborating with numerous Italian and European orchestras. Ivano Battiston played with such musicians as David Bellugi, Mario Brunello, Pamela Hebert, Vinko Globokar, Umberto Clerici, Vittorio Ceccanti, Alexander Lonquich, Daniela De Santis, Liana Maeran, Gabriele Cassone, Ivano Paterno, Luca Provenzani, Gabriele Ragghianti, Faye Nepon, Eugenia Amisano, Avi Avital, Arcadio Baracchi. He also participated in music and poetry performances with poet Franco Marcoaldi.
He is a professor of accordion at Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.
